For children, against cancer

Every year, more than 400 children in Belgium are diagnosed with cancer. For them and their families, life changes overnight. Despite the high standard of paediatric oncology in Belgium, a good chance of survival with a good quality of life is not yet guaranteed for every child.

The Prinses Máxima Centrum Foundation Belgium

The foundation wants every child with cancer in Belgium to receive the best possible care. It gives Belgian paediatricians, nurses and physiotherapists the chance to specialise at the Prinses Máxima Centrum in Utrecht, Europe’s leading centre for childhood cancer. More than 600 researchers and care specialists work there on better treatments, with access to many international clinical studies.

The Belgian professionals bring that knowledge back to their hospitals in Belgium. In this way, children here benefit directly from the best expertise in Europe.

Michel Mullèr’s contribution

Michel Mullèr supports this mission. For the foundation’s Charity Golf on 2 October 2026, he donated his work Jardin Japonais (2026, poplar wood, 63 × 63 cm) to the evening auction. The work found a new owner, and the proceeds go to the foundation. This year they help fund the specialised training of a Belgian paediatrician in Utrecht.

Michel Mullèr thanks the foundation for its work, and the new owner of Jardin Japonais for their support.
